Yes! The first deck of ‘Robo Rescue: Origins’ is 100% FREE for everyone who backs the campaign, during the Kickstarter campaign (Excluding shipping). This first deck is for a SOLO game (1 player). You can also get additional copies for multiplayer by adding just $1 per extra copy (up to 4 copies). If you need additional copies for 5 or more players, you can add them as an add-on for just $5 each. One deck’s retail price will be around $13 USD.

The base game is for 1 or more players (no limits). However the standard “free” game pledge is just for 1 player. If you’d like to play in competitive mode, you can grab extra copies (each for just $1, up to 4 decks).

We have 4 reward tiers. The first tier gives you a free deck designed exclusively for solo mode. Each of the other 3 tiers include additional decks for multiplayer mode (each player needs their own deck), and each one is available for just $1.

Unfortunately, we can’t include a $0 reward tier on Kickstarter. So, if you’re choosing the free solo version, we’ll credit that $1 toward your shipping cost in the pledge manager, after the campaign.

We’re focused on delivering the game exactly as it is — complete and polished. However, instead of a traditional stretch goal, we’ve created a poll to see if you’d be interested in an optional upgrade for each deck at just $0.50 per deck (only applies from the second deck, first one’s upgrade would be free). If 60% or more of the backers vote ‘Yes’, we will upgrade all games with a laminated, UV-coated & embossed game box and linen finish cards.

If a backers selects to wait for the board game they won’t be charged now. They can skip providing their address and credit card details. We will collect those later. If they selected to receive Origins as soon as it’s ready, we need their address and payment info so we can ship your order once ready.

Backers of our sister brand’s project (LUDOS America from Lemery Games) have the option to either select to receive Origins together with their LUDOS America pledge, their order will be merged with their LUDOS America order. They can skip providing their address and credit card details. We will collect their outstanding balance in the LUDOS America pledge manager. Similarly, if they select to wait for the board game to come out, they don’t need to provide their card and shipping details.

🛳️ Combined Shipping for the Board Game: As you know, we’re offering you the chance to receive your Origins games together with the upcoming Robo Rescue board game (launching this Fall) to save significantly on shipping. You have no obligations! If you change your mind later about backing the board game, we’ll simply ship your Origins order at the default Origins shipping rates. There will be one specific question about this option in the survey. Please read it very carefully and make your selection based on your preference.

🛳️ Add-On Shipping Consistency: If you add any extra decks (or other add-ons) to your cart, you’ll again need to select when you want to receive those add-ons. This selection must match the answer you made for your pledge in the main survey question. For example, if you chose to wait for the board game in the main survey, any add-on decks must also be set to ship with the board game. This will be explained again in the survey itself.

We had a poll during the campaign where backers could vote for a premium upgrade for their games for an extra $0.50/deck (beyond their first deck which still remains free). The premium deck upgrade (linen finish cards, UV coated, and embossed game boxes) that 98% of backers voted for will already be automatically added to everyone’s pledge. This is a tiny $0.50 cost per deck, beyond the first deck (your first deck will still be completely free!). This information will also be clearly visible in your survey. This was a collective decision we advertised during the campaign in updates and the Kickstarter page.

We are currently running an anonymous survey among backers to ask what they would consider a fair price for the Robo Rescue board game. This will also influence its final price. We are only planning a premium edition of the board game and currently estimate its Kickstarter price to be between $50-$60.
